Kathy's fascination and love for horses goes back as far as she can remember, watching The Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers on TV. At age 4 she was ready to trade her mother for a horse she saw on a hill, while traveling with her parents through Texas. She began taking hunt seat lessons shortly thereafter and spent the next 8 years riding at Woodbrook Stables. She bought and trained her first horse at 23 and has not been without a horse since.
Her riding, showing and teaching experience includes:
- Certified Horsemanship Association instructor certificate in English and Western disciplines
- Gaming
- Drill Team, including one she founded; Golden Spurs
- Extensive Trail Riding
- Showing Western Pleasure, Equitation and Trail
- Assistant gaming and drill team coach for Yelm High School's Equestrian Team

- Showmanship in Hand
